Caregiver Support Program

Support for caregivers who spend every day showing up for someone else.

Caregiving is its own kind of full-time work. It's also its own kind of grief, its own kind of isolation, and its own kind of love. The Colonial PVA Caregiver Support Program exists because we know that the people who show up every single day for our members need someone showing up for them too.

This program brings caregivers together through retreats, peer support, educational resources, and respite care. Many of the closest friendships in our community started here. Strangers who sat down together at a retreat and never really left each other's lives.

Taking care of yourself is part of taking care of them.

How the Caregiver Support Program Works

Support for the people who give everything to someone else.

Caregiver Retreats
Our retreats bring caregivers together for time that belongs entirely to them. Time to rest, to talk to people who understand without explanation, and to remember who they are outside of the role they carry every day.
Peer Support
Caregivers are connected with others in the Colonial PVA community who are navigating the same challenges. These relationships continue long after a retreat ends, through phone calls, messages, and the kind of friendship that forms when two people recognize each other's reality.
Educational Resources
We provide caregivers with tools and information to help them manage the demands of daily care while protecting their own health and well-being.
Respite Care Grant
Through the Colonial PVA Respite Care Grant, eligible caregivers can receive up to $500 annually toward in-home respite services, giving them dedicated time to step away, breathe, and recharge.
